Believing in Mining – Expo San Juan 2024

An International Experience

On May 23, my first experience at Expo San Juan Minera 2024 came to an end—an internationally recognized event bringing together mining companies, suppliers, institutions and key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors. It was a true honor to actively participate and, above all, to share my Italian 🇮🇹 geological perspective through meaningful conversations with outstanding professionals.

A Strategic Partnership

Argentina and Europe are closely connected through the Memorandum of Understanding on Sustainable Raw Materials Value Chains, signed on June 13, 2023. The agreement aims to stimulate European investment across the entire value chain of critical raw materials, leveraging Argentina’s strong potential—particularly in lithium, as well as copper, rare earth elements and other strategic minerals.

The Four Pillars of Development

The roadmap is structured around four key pillars:

• Building critical and strategic raw material value chains
• Cooperation in research and innovation
• Alignment on environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards
• Development of infrastructures to support projects

Geology as a Bridge

At the European Union stand, I had the opportunity to engage in discussions on responsible sourcing of critical raw materials. This experience reinforced my belief that geology can act as a bridge—connecting technical, cultural and human dimensions, and fostering cooperation between European and Argentine realities.

A Responsible Vision

Through VUELTA MINING ATTITUDE, I am committed to promoting conscious mining approaches, where the increasing demand for strategic minerals is balanced by environmental and social responsibility. This means adopting innovative management models across the entire value chain—from exploration to market—ensuring an ecologically sound and economically sustainable system.
